Knowing the air-speed velocity of an unladen swallow might not be enough to keep King Arthur safe in a quest for the Holy Grail.
Not according to this new trailer based on the Monty Python cult classic, at any rate. While the original film, released in 1975, is a satire staple for goofball nerds everywhere, the tone is shifted here into something much more dramatic. It's hard to imagine the Python boys taking anything they've created this seriously themselves, but at least the Black Knight would be pleased to know he's finally getting the respect he deserves.

In this version, the punchlines are missing and no one is clacking coconuts together to sound like a horse. Instead, new somber music and sound effects make the actors' famously deadpan delivery seem almost Oscar-worthy. Even Michael Palin's Sir Galahad looks genuinely frightened by the "peril" of beautiful women encircling him, and it's doubtful any of these knights would spend their downtime sequining vests or working on a Clark Gable impression.
