T-Mobile, AT&T Reveal Installment Plans for New iPhones

T-Mobile and AT&T revealed details on Friday about the installment plans for its latest-generation iPhones, the iPhone 5S and the low-cost iPhone 5C, and it looks like AT&T has the edge in pricing. Although T-Mobile and AT&T are offering the iPhone 5Cfor no money up front with monthly payments, you will pay less over time with AT&T.

However, T-Mobile offers a less pricey service plan — including unlimited calls, texting and data for $70 each month — compared to AT&T's $80-per-month plan with limited data and talk time.
Here's a full look at the installment pricing:
T-Mobile is offering the iPhone 5C (16GB) for $0 down with $22 a month for 24 months.
Meanwhile, on AT&T, the iPhone 5C will cost $0 down along with $22 a month for 20 months. If you're willing to sign a two-year contract, you can get the normal subsidized price: a single payment of $99.
Pre-orders for the 5C are now available on both carriers.
For the iPhone 5S, T-Mobile is offering it up front for $99 plus $22 a month for 24 months. If you cancel service before paying off the phone, the remaining balance will come due.

With AT&T, customers can buy the iPhone 5S starting Sept. 20 for $0 up front with installments of $27 a month for 20 months. This would bring the total to $540 across 20 months (including the phone), while T-Mobile's plan and phone pricing comes to $627 for 24 months.
Another option for AT&T is to sign a two-year contract, which gets the customer the subsidized price of $199 for the 16GB iPhone 5S. For a full look at AT&T's offerings, click here.
In July, AT&T rolled out an initiative called Next, which factors in the price of a new device with 20 monthly payments, ranging from $15 to $50, depending on the device.
T-Mobile also has bi-annual upgrade program called Jump, giving customers the ability to get a new smartphone or tablet each year.
