Meet the Homeless 'Journeyman Hacker' Live via Hangout

When a programmer from New York City offered coding lessons to a homeless man he described as a "genius," the Internet reacted with a mixture of support and criticism. Now, for the first time, we have a chance to talk to both teacher and student in an exclusive Google+ Hangout On Air, starting Tuesday at 1 p.m. ET.
The world first learned about the duo last month when Patrick McConlogue wrote a post titled "Finding the Unjustly Homeless, and Teaching Them to Code" on the blogging platform Medium. McConlogue wrote of his connection with "The Journeyman Hacker," the homeless man he passed each day on his way to work.
McConlogue offered the man a choice between $100 in cash or coding lessons for an hour each day over the course of two months. The man, whose name is Leo, chose the lessons. McConlogue supplied Leo with a laptop, instruction books, a solar charger and "something to hide the laptop in."
You'll find an occasional update on Leo's lessons on the Journeyman Facebook page, but there's much more we want to learn about this project. The two just crossed the halfway point of their journey on Monday, so they decided it's the right time to introduce Leo to the world.
Watch the conversation live right here on Tuesday at 1 p.m. ET. If you can't make it, a replay of the footage will be available immediately after.
