Developers have created some spectacular apps that run on the Evernote platform, and Friday Evernote selected three of them as its annual Devcup winners.
The Evernote Devcup is open to any app that integrates with Evernote’s API. One-hundred and eighty apps were submitted to this year’s Devcup. From those 180, Evernote selected winners in twelve different categories in August ranging from Best Evernote Business Integration to Design Achievement.

Those twelve teams were narrowed down to just six on August 16 that were each flown out to San Francisco to attend Evernote’s annual conference. The final three were selected from that six, and announced on stage as the conference closed on Friday.
The winners are:
Postach.io is a blogging tool that lets you post content to your own personal blog directly from Evernote simply by tagging a finished post “published.”
Inspired by Tumblr, there are a number of different easy-to-implement themes available for the app. All you need to publish using the platform is an Evernote account and a domain name.
The service can be used to create a new blog, or used to publish Evernote notes you have currently stored in your account.
Context Booster adds context to your Evernote notes by searching the web for content related to them. The app can help populate your Evernote notebooks with more information about a topic you’re researching; simplifying the researching process and, the idea is, making you more productive.
The app can be used for not only writing, but also to help provide more information about something like a book or DVD simply by taking a photo of that item and adding it to a notebook within Evernote.
Biscuit is a translation app that helps you learn a foreign language. The app lets you instantly translate a word, hear its pronunciation and have it turned into a flash card you can interact with using Evernote Peek.
The app is designed to help you learn, meaning you can prioritize words in your word list, and set push notifications to quiz you on words throughout the day.
Some of the Devcup finalists have been invited to participate in the inaugural Evernote Accelerator, a month-long program that lets companies work side-by-side with Evernote’s senior developers at the company’s headquarters.
Selected teams will receive travel and lodging during the accelerator, a workspace at Evernote HQ and a small stipend to cover incidental expenses. Despite teams receiving financial assistance to be part of the Accelerator, neither Evernote nor any of the other sponsors will be taking any ownership or stock in the companies they work with.
“For us, the big win is when somebody builds a cool integration,” Evernote platform advocate Rafe Needleman told Mashable in an interview earlier this year. “The more engaged people are with their Evernote account, the more likely they are to stick with us ... The benefit we get is happier Evernote users.”
