The popular photo-sharing site Imgur might not be your first guess when it comes to finding romance, but maybe you just haven't sifted through the memes and GIFs close enough.

Bryan and Morgan met in real life, despite an 1,800-mile barrier, after a chance encounter on Imgur. The connection sparked from a simple comment on Morgan's photo.

Morgan was excited about her new cutlery. Bryan happened to be browsing through user-submitted photos during a study break when he stumbled across the image. He later explained that she "ripped my concentration away from the books."
"I mustered all of my mostly-imagined boyish charm and immeasurable intellect, and commented on this impossibly attractive girl's picture, 'How about you're cute, and thanks for sharing that with the world,'" he wrote in part one of the saga, ending the compliment with an emoticon in true Internet-pickup-line style.
The comment did not fall into a web black hole. Morgan messaged Bryan, and they started talking regularly. The two college students discovered they had a lot in common, and the connection grew from a crush to something bigger.
"I started to really genuinely geek out over this girl in ways I'd never experienced before," he wrote.
Meanwhile, the distance remained the same. Bryan, who lives in Utah, decided to fly to Alabama to meet his Imgur dream girl, and shared the story in a now-viral thread.
"That's right! Two imguraffes are about to collide in a splash of travelicious intrepidness that will leave my wallet weeping, and my wildest dreams completely put to shame for their lack of imagination," he wrote.

The two spent three days together, and Morgan shared their adventures on Imgur in a second thread, filled with reaction GIFs and comics to illustrate her feelings.
Morgan told Mashable that it's too early to tell what will come of the meet-up, but it was not much different than their online conversations, and they plan to keep talking. Regardless, they have a special connection and a story for the e-books.
"Sitting at a computer screen, slogging through hundreds of hours of hit-or-miss content in User Submitted doesn't mean you can't have some fun in the real world," she wrote. "If he can fly to places he had never thought of visiting and meet fantastic people, then so can you! So go out there and seize the day! Or not; I'm a student, not a cop."
