May the filters be with you. Instagram has arrived in the Star Wars universe.
Lucasfilm launched an official Instagram account for the space fantasy franchise Monday, announcing its presence with — what else? — a selfie of Darth Vader. Fans will recognize that corridor he's standing in: the Tantive IV blockade runner from the beginning of the original Star Wars.
The account already has more than 17,000 followers.

Don't get too excited, though; the photo doesn't herald the beginning of filming on Star Wars Episode VII. That won't begin until Spring 2014.
Meanwhile, we hate to say it, but the Dark Lord of the Sith sure is a selfie-noob. He's using the back camera in his selfie instead of the front-facing one.
For its second picture, the Lucasfilm account posted a "#latergram" — flashing back to a behind the scenes shot from 1980's Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back.
Basically, this account is going to win every #throwbackthursday from now on.
Star Wars: Episode VII releases in theaters December 18, 2015.
