While it's not the most conventional form of artistic expression, Snapchat has enabled a whole new wave of artists to share their creative works for 10 seconds.

Meet Shaun McBride. He's a sales rep for snowboarding companies, and he's all about Snapchat. Since he started snapping last year, McBride has made a mark on the Snapchat community with his imaginative photos and impressive doodles. Mashable chatted with McBride to learn more about his love of Snapchat, and how it has shaped his day-to-day life.
Mashable: How did you get into Snapchat?
McBride: My job is super fun, and is a constant adventure of traveling, meeting cool people and experiencing new things. I wanted to quickly send crazy things over to friends and family, and Snapchat was the best medium for that. In my downtime on planes or in hotels, I would just start drawing these artistic snaps that usually have exaggerated humor or irony.
What are some of the ways you’ve used the app?
I’ve done everything from making back-to-back snap sequences that create a short film to using the app to blast out 50% screenshot coupons for a skate shop’s marketing. The crazy snaps I draw are mostly just for fun.
Can you describe your creative process? How do you think up your snaps?
A lot of times I try and do things that are ironic or realistic with a touch of unrealistic. If you are stressing about creating something funny, you just force it, and I’ve had a couple of snaps that I just didn’t like because I was trying too hard. Usually if I see something funny, I just take a pic of it. Then I will look at the pic and think, "This is cool, but how much cooler would it be if he had a dinosaur head or was holding a chainsaw?"
What do you like about Snapchat? Where do you think the app is going?
I think it’s cool when people snap me a compliment to one of my posts, or say something I’m doing looks fun. I always snap those people back. The app and idea of Snapchat has so much potential — it all depends on if the company acts on that potential. I think they need to do some marketing on the creative potential and positive side of the app to take attention off of people thinking it is just used inappropriately. I hope things go in the right direction. I have had so much fun with Snapchat.
