Marie-Philip Poulin may be the only Canadian who has terrorized the United States more than Justin Bieber.
Poulin scored two goals, including the game-winner on an overtime power-play, to lead Canada to a 3-2 win over Team USA for the gold medal in women's hockey at the Winter Olympics in Sochi on Thursday. The entire scene was something of a nightmarish case of American deja vu; four years ago, Poulin scored another pair of goals to lead Canada over Team USA for the gold medal at the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver.

The game went into overtime with a 2-2 score after a furious Canadian comeback capped by a goal with under a minute left in the third period knotted things up. Thirty seconds earlier, Team USA had missed a chance to ice the game up 2-1 when Canada emptied its own goal for an extra offensive player. Team USA cleared the puck and sent it back to go up 3-1, only to miss by just. this. much.

The comeback victory marks Canada's 20th straight women's hockey win at the Winter Olympics. They last time they lost? In the 1998 final, when Team USA took the gold. Team USA's women now have lost to Canada in the Olympic final three times since.
But dry your eyes, America. Team USA takes on Canada in the men's hockey semifinals on Friday morning, and we'll need you at your rooting best.
