The first teaser trailer for the long-awaited second installment of 2005's cult classic Sin City was released Thursday, promising plenty of booze, barbarism and babes.
Sin City: A Dame to Kill For welcomes back stars from the original film, such as Mickey Rourke, Jessica Alba and Bruce Willis, plus new talent like Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Ray Liotta and Josh Brolin. Pop sensation Lady Gaga will reportedly make a cameo in the final flick though the singer was not seen in the trailer.

Nearly one and a half minutes long, the preview begins abruptly with a voice over of Rourke on "just another Saturday night," as he falls upside down through shattering glass. The rest of the trailer, though it doesn't get deep into plot, is chock full of quick, dramatic shots in the series' characteristic black-and-white style.
The film is primarily based on the the second book in the Sin City neo-noir comic series, written by Frank Miller, who directed the film with Robert Rodriguez. It also incorporates a plot line from Just Another Saturday Night, a short story featured in the series' fifth book, as well as two original creations Miller wrote specifically for the action-packed crime-thriller.
Sin City: A Dame to Kill For comes out in theaters on Aug. 22.
