Protestors in Turkey Redo the Ellen Selfie Inside a Police Van

They may have been packed in the back of a police van, but these protesters in Istanbul, Turkey, were all smiles.
Ali Emre Mazlumoğlu tweeted the latest version of the famed Oscars "Ellen Selfie" on Monday, which managed to fit in even more people than Bradley Cooper: 14 instead of 12.

It's unclear whether the woman who tweeted the picture above was a part of the photo, but the tweet translates along the lines of "selfie in custody in a police car (March 7)."

Though the photo was taken in Istanbul, Turkey's largest city, protests throughout the nation were reignited following the March 12 death of a 15-year-old boy who had been in a coma for 269 days after a tear gas canister smashed into his head during initial protests last June. Rioters were originally angry over government plans to pave over Istanbul's Gezi Park, but the situation erupted after police officers cracked down on protests.
At the time of writing, the Turkey selfie had more than 3,600 retweets.
Two more people have died in the renewed riots following the boy's death, which has ramped up tension between civilians and the government.
