Paint it, Black দ্যা রোলিং স্টোনস্‌ এর চতুর্থ এ্যালবাম Aftermath এ এই গানটি প্রকাশ পায় ১৯৬৬ সালে। আর দ্যা রোলিং স্টোনস্‌ সম্পর্কে নতুন করে বলার কিছু নাই। চাইলে তাদের নিজস্ব ওয়েবসাইট ঘুরে আসতে পারেন। গানটি ১৯৬৬ সালে একই সাথে যুক্তরাষ্ট্র এবং যুক্তরাজ্যে টপ চার্টে প্রথম স্থানে ছিলো। পরে ২০০৪ সালে রোলিং স্টোনস্‌ ম্যাগাজিনের The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time লিস্টে এই গানটি ১৭৬ এ অবস্থান পায়।

অনেকেই তাই এই গানকে সুইসাইডাল সং ও বলে থাকেন। অনেকে অবশ্য গানটিকে সেই সময়ের ভিয়েতনাম যুদ্ধের উপর ভিত্তি করে লেখা হয়ে থাকতে পারে বলে ও মনে করেন। তবে সবকিছু ছাপিয়ে চরম বিষন্নতাই এই গানের মূল আকর্ষণ। ইউটিউবের লিংক দিলাম। পরে অবশ্য অনেকেই গানটি কভার করেছে।
