Xbox Video Debuts Online Without HD Support

Microsoft on Wednesday rolled out its Xbox Video store to the web, allowing users access to its collection of 300,000 movies and TV shows via XboxVideo.com.
However, the service, which streams the same content found on on the Xbox One app and Windows 8 platform, is missing one very key component: HD support.

This means if you want to see content streamed in high definition, you must access the dedicated Xbox Video app only on a Microsoft device, such as a Surface tablet.
The website will serve as a replacement for its Zune video service, as Microsoft cuts compatibility with devices in early 2014.
The good news is the collection goes wherever you do, thanks to the cloud. Movies and TV shows purchased or rented via Xbox Video can be access on XboxVideo.com, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and Windows 8.1 PCs and tablets.
The news comes as Microsoft readies an Xbox Video app for Windows Phones, which will also come without HD support for now.
