২৩ শে নভেম্বর, ২০১২ থেকে আমার ব্লগিং শুরু TOEFL এর ভালো স্কোর অর্জনের জন্য লিসেনিং এ ভালো হওয়াটা খুবই গুরুত্বপূর্ণ। কারণ নির্ধারিত লিসেনিং পার্ট ছাড়াও স্পীকিং পার্টের প্রথম দুইটি প্রশ্ন বাদে বাকী চারটি প্রশ্ন এবং রাইটিং এর প্রথম প্রশ্নটির সাথেও জড়িয়ে আছে লিসেনিং এর ব্যাপার স্যাপার। তাই লিসেনিং এ এক্সপার্টদের কাছে টোফেলের স্পীকিং পার্টটা পানির মতই সহজ বলে মনে হয়। এক্ষেত্রে বেশিরভাগ প্রশ্নের উত্তর হলো কি শুনলেন এবং কি দেখলেন তা প্রশ্নের আলোকে নিজের মতো করে সাজিয়ে নির্ধারিত সময়ের মধ্যে বলা। এর বাইরে থাকে রিডিং, স্পীকিং এর প্রথম দুইটি প্রশ্ন ও রাইটিং এর দ্বিতীয় প্রশ্নটি।

এর মধ্যে আমি রাইটিং এর দ্বিতীয় প্রশ্নটি সম্পর্কে কিছু বলতে চাই। এটি একটা রচনা টাইপের প্রশ্ন। কমপক্ষে তিনশত শব্দের মধ্যে একটা নির্দিষ্ট ট্রপিকের পক্ষে বা বিপক্ষে আলোচনা করতে হয়। যারা এ পরীক্ষা দিবেন বা দিতে যাচ্ছেন তারা সবই জানেন। তাই আমি এটা নিয়ে বিশেষ কিছু আলোচনায় যাবনা।

আমার লেখার উদ্দেশ্য হলো শুধুমাত্র তাদেরকে রাইটিং এর এই ইন্ডেপেন্ট পার্টের কিছু গুরুত্বপূর্ণ প্রশ্ন দিয়ে সাহায্য করা। এই প্রশ্ন গুলো সম্প্রতি টোফেল পরীক্ষাতে ঘুরে ফিরে আসতে দেখা যাচ্ছে। আমি সম্পূর্ণ ব্যাক্তিগত প্রচেষ্টায় বিভিন্ন ওয়েবসাইট ঘেটে এগুলো সংগ্রহ করেছি। এই প্রশ্নগুলো সবই ২০১০ এবং ২০১১ সালে নর্থ আমেরিকার স্টুডেন্ট জন্য অনুষ্ঠিত টোফেল পরীক্ষায় এসেছিল। আর এখন এর বাইরের স্টুডেন্ট জন্য প্রায়শই আসতে দেখা যাচ্ছে।
