Sorry for writing the blog in English but I am actually not used to type in Bangla despite being a Bengali and i am ashamed of it. I am a new blogger and am writing this blog basically to ask the author of a blog posted on 3rd November 2011 and was titled ''জাগো : ঢাকার রাস্তাজুড়ে শহরবন্দী ইংলিশ মিডিয়াম ছেলেমেয়েদের অ্যাডভেনচার''. I basically wanted to comment on the blog itself but could not do so as i am new and therefore had to post a blog of my own. If the author of the mentioned blog does read this blog then i would like to ask him/her: What do you mean by ''জাগো : ঢাকার রাস্তাজুড়ে শহরবন্দী ইংলিশ মিডিয়াম ছেলেমেয়েদের অ্যাডভেনচার''? Why is a fund raising event being treated as 'adventure'? Can we not learn to accept a good initiative? Why is there a gap being created between students who are studying at a Bangla medium school and someone studying at an English medium school? I mean, both are places where people are gaining knowledge, so what is there to differentiate? I saw some of the comments about students from and English medium schools having loads of cash and having all sorts of drinks (alcohol to be more precise) at the end of the day. Some also went and wrote about having sheesha with the donation money. So I am just asking the author and the ones who have written these sorts of comments some questions: students from Bangla medium dont drink alcohol?? Do not students from Bangla medium go to sheesha lounges?? (from my personal experience this time when i was back in beloved Bangladesh in September i saw all customers at a sheesha lounge being from Bangla medium except me) So, can i say that students from Bangla medium have gaaja, heroin, fencidil etc and those from English medium dont?? I started following blogs and posts about Jaago with interest.I will not go into details of what Jaago is doing or not because that is not the reason for writing the blog. But it really stunned me as i read through some blogs that people were actually not supporting the cause but rather making fun of it and the volunteers working for it. I will end by taking about the girl volunteers and the writing of the author as well as some comments that followed up. One day I was walking along a street (in Birmingham UK) coming home. I was stopped by a female volunteer collecting charities to adopt and raise a tiger (though the volunteer had no idea of Sundarbans or The Royal Bengal Tiger). I told the volunteer that i was not interested in doing so and her reply was ''would you contribute if i sleep with you?''. Well I said ''no'' (though guys like the author of the above mentioned post and some of the comments as mentioned earlier will not believe me). So 'Engla'(author of জাগো : ঢাকার রাস্তাজুড়ে শহরবন্দী ইংলিশ মিডিয়াম ছেলেমেয়েদের অ্যাডভেনচার), Ikramul Hoque, Abdullah Shibli,M.A.Khosru Noman (some of the names i remember of all who commented on the blog) etc if you guys read and feel like answering please do so by commenting. And please no offence to any one.
