Digital Mongla project is launched on last Friday (16th April, 2010). Through this project, all important offices and institutions of Mongla Upazilla will be brought under Internet connectivity. This project is developed by Future Solutions for Business (FSB), a UK based software Development. Arch. Yeafes Osman, State Minister for Science and Information and Communication Technology inaugurated the project. Habibunnahar, Member of Parliament, Mamdudur Rashid, Deputy Managing Director, BRAC Bank and ABM Humayun Kabir, Bagerhat Area Sales Manager from Grameenphone were present on the occasion. Under the project, Mongla Port, UNO office, 10 leading schools and colleges, Muktijodhha Porishad and some other organization will be connected with the Internet. FSB will provide free software and dynamic websites for the organizations under this project. Two E-centers at Mithakhali and Mongla will also be established under this project. Moreover there will be an e-commerce portal to promote local products and a tourism site. All the organizations under this project will be using Internet modems to access the Internet. Grameenphone Ltd. is providing free Internet modems on this Digital Mongla project. It is hoped that this project will create an example of how the future Digital Bangladesh will look. Click This Link
