While introducing national ID card it’s said that it will be used for 22 services. None will get government subsidy facilities, allowance and relief if s/he does not have an ID card. Issuance and renewal of passport, driving license, trade license, tax identification number, business identification number and bank account, and beneficiary owner’s account with stock exchanges. Citizens will need to provide the identity card numbers for connections of gas, water and electricity, telephone, mobile, internet and cable television. They will need to produce the card numbers for registration with public examinations, any public services, marriage registration and loans of any sort. ID cards will be mandatory for selling and buying land and motor vehicles, admission of children to schools, lodging cases and appeal to court. Now ID cards are available only for 18+ people; I hope it will be given to all. Now only election commission has the sole right to access on the database. If some service provider can use the database with proper authenticity it can be a national asset. Govt. may introduce a definite fee (very nominal) to every access to this database server. Here I have an example. Now in banking sector the use of IT is must. Using internet various banks are providing various services for us. Such for giving foreign remittance to beneficiary there are various systems such as Western Union Money Transfer, MoneyGram, IME, TransFast, Remit One (Agrani Bank), Quick Remit (Agrani Bank) etc. Here beneficiary can collect money even though S/He has no Bank Account. To give money to the actual beneficiary bankers have to rely on National ID card which can be easily manipulated. To avoid these difficulties the barcode feature of the National ID can play a big role. If some organization like Bank, Police and Passport Office etc has the right to access the central database (where the information of every citizen stored) then authenticity of a person can be easily justified. To access on the server govt. can impose a fee. Thus govt. can earn huge revenue from this sector.
