Unofficial 'Downton Abbey' Legos Are a Masterpiece of Brick Theater

Clashing class statuses and 18th century British aristocracy: Just what every little kid hopes to find when they open up a box of Legos!
Well, maybe not so much for little kids, but superfans of the BBC drama will be pleased to see the Crawleys and (almost) all of the Downton Abbey cast translated into the miniature counterparts.

Lego enthusiast Eric Stevens created the unofficial figures and spoke with Mashable to discuss his process.
"For the men, I used some of the alternate costumes," Stevens explained, "rather than repeat the same tuxedo." The women, however, were more difficult as Lego has never done any figurines from that time period. So Stevens used inventive creativity to piece the minifigures together from various sets, including Indiana Jones, Prince of Persia, Harry Potter and Star Wars.
He points out that matriarch Violet Crawley has the "unique advantage" of her headpiece being previously specifically crafted for the actress, Maggie Smith, by Lego for the Harry Potter collection.
There is one character who is notably missing — Anna, Lady Mary's maid and wife of Mr. Bates. Stevens told us she was too visually similar to Lady Sybil.
Take a look and let us know if you think he captured the essence of the brooding characters.
