Film enthusiasts at the Sundance Film Festival this weekend won't only be entertained by the big screen — they may also get some amusement by hitching a ride around Park City, Utah.
Lyft, which allows those in need of a ride to request one through an app on their phone, is pulling out all the stops at Sundance. The car-sharing service is bringing in some of its most unique drivers to offer free rides at the annual festival through Saturday.

Lyft encourages it drivers, who pick up people in their own cars, to make the experience fun for passengers. The company held a competition to see which drivers would get the nod for Sundance, and a few on the final list make even clowns seem dull.
Among the Lyft drivers at Sundance: Matthew Robbins of Orange County who has a car decked out in bright neon lights, Vanessa Nelson of San Diego who operates a Karaoke-themed car and Mike White of Los Angeles who drives around with a three-person Bluegrass band in the backseat to serenade passengers.

Lyft said it received "hundreds" of entries from drivers across the country, and selected the top 10 to represent the company from Thursday through Saturday at the festival. Lyft is paying for the drivers' transportation, lodging and rides (since the passengers are not actually charged).
"We wanted to use the creative environment of Sundance as a backdrop to showcase these awesome community drivers," a Lyft spokesperson told Mashable. "We're only here for three days, and the goal of this campaign/promotion was to give passengers the best possible experience with our most popular drivers."
This is not the first time that Lyft has gone above and beyond when it comes to creating unique rider experiences. On Halloween, the service hired a professional makeup artist to turn dozens of San Francisco-based drivers into zombies for the evening.
