The Seattle Seahawks secured their place at next month’s Super Bowl in New Jersey by winning the NFC championship over the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday. However, not content just to make it onto the biggest stage in sports, Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman decided to use the win to deliver an epic post-game rant that lit up Twitter.

Ignoring the question from Fox Sports sideline reporter Erin Andrews, Sherman, fresh off a hard-fought win that will pit the Seahawks against the Denver Broncos for the ultimate NFL crown, the footballer delivered an aggressive, over-the-top response, saying:
I’m the best corner in the game. When you try me with a sorry receiver like [49ers wide receiver Michael] Crabtree, that’s the result you gonna get. Don’t you ever talk about me... Don’t you open your mouth about the best or I’m gonna shut it for you real quick.
Sherman’s televised rant quickly blew up on social media, with sports fans sharing Vines of the blow up and some even creating meme pics of the incident.

According to the Twitter Sports account, the game generated 3.4 million tweets, but there's no mention of how many of those tweets might have been inspired by Sherman's antics.
This isn’t the first time Sherman has gone off on angry tangent on national television. The short-tempered footballer aired his feelings out on ESPN last year during a segment on First Take.

Directing his ire at sports analyst Skip Bayless, Sherman told the 62-year-old, award-winning journalist, "You think more of yourself than you actually can prove... In my 24 years of life, I'm better at life than you."
Based on this most recent outburst, it appears that little has changed and Sherman’s outsized ego is still intact. His claims of greatness will be put to the test on February 2 at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium.
