Google is once again encouraging kids to submit a logo design for its Doodle 4 Google contest, but this year the selected winner will see their work animated and interactive on the homepage.
Just as Google Doodles sometimes feature more dynamic concepts — such as the epic multi-level Doctor Who Google Doodle game — the winning applicant will work with the Google team to animate it for the site.

"The addition is a cool parallel to the way that our own doodles have 'evolved' from static to the crazy interactive ones over the years," a Google spokesperson told Mashable.

The theme of the seventh annual competition is focused on imagination and possibility. Entrants are required to complete the phrase "If I could invent one thing to make the world a better place …” The winner will also receive a $30,000 college scholarship and a $50,000 Google for Education technology grant for his or her school.
Submissions, which can be sent digitally or via mail, must be received by March 20. Teachers and parents can download the entry forms here.

Google will announce on April 29 a finalist from each of the 50 states and fly them to its headquarters in Mountain View, Calif. for a day of creative workshops. The winner will later be revealed on the homepage in June.
Judges include a collection of Google staffers and guest panelists, from astronaut Ron Garan to directors and authors. Last year, Doodle 4 Google received 130,000 submissions, up from 116,000 in 2012.
Google is also offering virtual field trips to the Google headquarters and "connected classroom" sessions, where educators and students can connect live with Doodle staffers and learn about the creative process.
