Universal Releases Magical First Look at Harry Potter World's Diagon Alley

Prepare yourselves Potterheads.
Universal Orlando Resort unveiled renderings of the Diagon Alley expansion being made to its Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park Thursday — and it's nothing short of magical.
The nine images give glimpses at the iconic King's Cross Station, which will lead to a functioning Hogwarts Express that will take visitors between Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade, which opened in 2010 with the original theme park. The train ride will include views of the British countryside, much like Harry and his classmates may have seen while riding to school.

The centerpiece of Diagon Alley will be Gringotts Bank, complete with fire-breathing dragon. The bank will house a new ride entitled "Escape from Gringotts" which takes riders on a thrilling escape of the vaults' perils.
"We've gone further than Hogsmeade, where you're going to be absolutely enclosed," Alan Gilmore, art director of the Harry Potter films and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter told Fox News. "There'll be no sight or sound of the outside world. You will be in the magical world in every direction."
Another image shows vibrant renderings of a three-story Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes, known to Potter fans as the store owned by pranksters Fred and George Weasley. The store will actually feature novelty items, including magical jokes like Dung Bombs and Screaming Yo-Yos, which the twins were known to use throughout the books.
Naughtier wizards will be pleased to know Knockturn Alley, including Borgin and Burkes, will be make appearances in Diagon Allely as well as the Leaky Cauldron, serving up delicious British food like fish and chips. Diagon Alley will also feature it's very own ice-cream parlor and a a Quality Quidditch Supply store selling Golden Snitches and Quaffles.
And never fear, Muggles, the expansion includes some of the book's London attractions, including the Knight Bus — but no word yet if Stan Shunpike will be in the driver's seat.
Diagon Alley is slated to open this summer.

We fondly remember young Ron's crippling fear of spiders and ability to be eating in many as scenes as possible. Most recently, Grint made his on-stage debut as a drug-dealing bad boy in "Mojo" -- a far cry from the wide-eyed face on the left.

While Watson has grown up, she still hasn't lost touch with the endearingly dorky Hermione. Watson's latest endeavor is a role in the upcoming Biblical epic, "Noah."

If there was any child in the Harry Potter franchise easier to hate than Malfoy, it was Harry's chubby, obnoxious cousin Dudley. Since the series ended, Melling has undergone both weight and fame loss, and he couldn't be happier about it.

One would think the mischievous pair of twins might want to blaze their own trails after being an on-screen duo for so long. Or they could star as Rosencrantz and Guildenstern in an upcoming production of Hamlet and continue developing their excellent chemistry. That works, too.
