Creating a real-time video with your friends from around the world is now a lot easier than you might think. A new iPhone app called JumpCam lets you create collaborative videos with up to 30 different people at once. In a manner best described as Instagram video meets Final Cut Pro, the app allows the user to combine up to 30 different 10-second clips into a single video to be shared with friends on Facebook, Twitter or embedded on a website.
3M announced a new partnership with Evernote on Thursday that allows users to turn their real-world sticky notes into digital notes that can be saved, shared or viewed from anywhere. The Post-It notes are digitized through a new “Post-it Note Camera” feature in Evernote’s iOS 7 app. Notes that are photographed with the camera are digitally enhanced and uploaded to your Evernote account. Notes can be organized by color within Evernote and the content is searchable. You can also add a reminder or due date to a specific note — such as a time you need to pick someone up from the airport or a payment due date for a bill.
Facebook began giving users the ability to edit their Facebook posts this week, starting with its Android app. Previously unavailable, the new feature lets you edit a status update or post once its published from within the Android app. Editing functionality will roll out to the iOS app and web in the future.
Whether your silk scarves are from Hermès or a more affordable brand, the Hermès Silk Knots app provides plenty of elegant inspiration on how to wear them. Videos and illustrated step-by-step directions show you how to style a silk scarf in a number of traditional ways -- in a tightly fitted knot, or as a backless dress -- and a few less conventional ones. Version 4.2 of the app launched in the App Store on Wednesday, and it's designed specifically for the newest version of Apple’s mobile operating system. The updated Instagram received a new look — allowing it to blend in seamlessly with the new iOS 7 interface — as well as new features. Photos in your feed are larger, and both photos and videos are displayed at an increased resolution.
Dragon Academy is a dragon-themed match-three puzzle game similar to Bejeweled or Candy Crush. The game has 150 different puzzles with a number of interesting tools to unlock and challenges to overcome such as goo, potions and walls along the way. The game is available for iOS, Android and on Facebook.
Urban Outfitters updated its iPhone app this week, introducing a much cleaner shopping interface and, more importantly, a new in-app rewards program. Under the "Get Some" tab, users are offered access to in-app exclusives such as free shipping and early access to sales. The app also includes various social media and in-store challenges that offer further rewards. To get the full experience, be sure to turn on the app's radio feature while you shop. --Lauren Indvik
