Melissa Bachman is a trophy hunter. She hunts animals for a living and posts pictures of her prey on Facebook and Twitter.
The Internet isn't happy about that.

A Change.org petition requesting that the South African government deny Bachman's entry into the country has racked up 135,000 signatures and counting. The petition came after she posted a smiling picture of herself with a dead lion she killed in South Africa in early November.
Bachman, a TV producer and host based in the United States, boasted her accomplishment by posting the picture on her Facebook page, Twitter account and her website.
An incredible day hunting in South Africa! Stalked inside 60-yards on this beautiful male lion...what a hunt! pic.twitter.com/CGdDoRGTF2

"I'm a hardcore hunter doing what I love!" Bachman's Twitter bio reads. But for Elan Burman, a Cape Town resident who started the petition, Bachman "is an absolute contradiction to the culture of conservation" that South Africa stands for.
"Her latest Facebook post features her with a lion she has just executed and murdered in our country," Burman wrote in the petition. "As tax payers we demand she no longer be granted access to this country and its natural resources."
The petition picked up a great deal of steam on Monday. Even celebrities like Ricky Gervais and Matthew Inman, founder of The Oatmeal, have supported it.

A Facebook page called "Stop Melissa Bachman" has gathered almost 100,000 Likes since its creation on November 14.
Perhaps due to all this attention, Bachman's website was down at the time of writing. An archived version of it shows her "trophy room," a gallery that contains various pictures of her posing with the the animals she has hunted down. She also has an official YouTube channel that includes videos of her posing with her prey.
This isn't the first Change.org petition against Bachman. Last year, in less than 24 hours, 13,000 people signed a petition asking National Geographic to drop her from the show Ultimate Survivor Alaska. Following the online petition, the network decided to remove her from the show.
Bachman hasn't responded to Mashable's requests for comment.
