Say what you want about Miley Cyrus, but she certainly knows how to get the Internet talking.
During the 2013 American Music Awards on Sunday night, the pop singer was joined on stage by a giant, virtual kitten which lip synced along to her performance of "Wrecking Ball."

Cyrus — who wore a two piece outfit adorned with cat faces — sang in real-time as the e-kitten mouthed the words behind her. And when Cyrus got emotional, the cat did too. The performance wrapped with the kitten winking and sticking its tongue out — a nod to Cyrus' signature sign off.
The performance was a strategic play on Cyrus' part: the Internet loves cats. It was only a matter of time before it started to trend on Twitter.
The move comes two months after her controversial "Wrecking Ball" performance during the MTV Video Music Awards in September.
Although the latest version is more family friendly, a virtual singing kitten is certainly a good way to once again make yourself the topic of conversation, swapping twerking for an adorable sidekick. An easy win for team Miley.
