A large number of new voters will take part in upcoming national election. Most of them are youth and the representative of new generation, and most of them under 22. They will be the decision-makers in this election. It is true that a handicap situation is running throughout the country in the question of election system, but we hope that it will be ended in a peaceful manner. It is important to our youth society that how and when the election will be held? Because, our newly established democracy will be vanished if we are fail to arrange a fair election. However, we hope that the coming election will be held by maintaining the normal procedure, according to the hope of common people. In this election, those new voters who will give vote, most of them are students of several universities and colleges (even in abroad), and new employee who recently entered into job sector. Beside these, a large part of Bangladeshi people are working in abroad, where they are engaged to remain active our wheel of economy. We also know that their contribution in our economy is so high. A student who resides in capital or other city for his study, normally he became the voter in his village, where his parents live. In a democratic country their participation in government is very much important even in some respect, it is more important than adult. But to give vote or to choice his leader he have to go to his village, where he registered his name as a voter. But this is so much costly to bear his travel fee. According to my experiences it takes normally about two thousand taka to up and down. A non-resident Bangladeshi/migrant who resides abroad for his work, his opinion is so much important to choice the leader of country or representative, because he earns money and sends remittances, that are why we can stand up with our honor, but we are not prepared to give him any chance to decide his leader of country. A democratic country can run well with the participation of all people. But in our country these people had no chance of participation in government. The vote day is holiday to them. They watch television; go to park, and cinema hall. This is not satisfactory for a rising democratic country. It is make so much depression for them. It will make best inspiration when they can know that they are working hard labor for his country and his countrymen are concern about his opinion to elect their leader. If the migrant worker and students are take part in general election then they will be more responsible for his motherland. Distance polling system is applying many countries in the world with including Australia, Canada, European Union and many other countries. In respect of Bangladesh a large number of people are working abroad, and their number is higher in comparison with other developing countries. Bangladesh can apply this system so easily through its embassies and foreign mission. It’s so easy that an embassy has a list of legal worker of its country. They can take vote on embassy by EVM or using its website. In respect of student voter, election commission office can take the advanced poll in its head office or through its website. It’s the era of globalization. The world run fast, we have to harmonize with its speed. We should never think such that, this system is not available in USA, India, Russia, and in so many developed countries. They are advanced in many sectors; we can show our advancement in this system. It will be benevolent for our democracy and it will show our ability to rest world. And obviously it is the very duty of government to take the vote of all people.
