President Barack Obama today held a press conference to discuss the developments of 2013 that quickly turned into a debate on how his administration will handle multiple allegations that the National Security Agency has spied on American citizens, foreign leaders and more.
"I have confidence that the NSA is not engaging in domestic surveillance and snooping around," Obama said at the conference.

Though he defended the data collection, the president also expressed concern about how the NSA has potentially damaged America's reputation internationally.
"Just because we can do something doesn't mean we necessarily should," Obama said. "The values we've got as Americans are ones we need to be willing to apply beyond our borders mores systematically than one we've done in the past."
