Vine unveiled a web version of the popular video sharing app on Friday, the company announced on its blog.
The web version has most of the same functionalities as the mobile app, including the ability to scroll through the feed, comment on videos and Like videos. Users can also visit profiles of the people they follow and scroll through those users' Vine videos.

However, the web version does not allow users to post videos, search for one another or search for channels. The app does have an "explore" feature.
Vine's web version does have a new web-only feature called TV Mode. Users can click a small TV-shaped icon in the upper-right corner of the profile of someone they follow, displaying that user's videos in full-screen mode. Half the screen is devoted to the video and the other half is used for the video's title or description. Users can also use TV Mode to click through all of the videos from someone they follow.

The layout of Vine's web version is similar to its format on the mobile app, although some small differences exist. For example, actions on buttons are now spelled out instead of labeled, meaning users will see "Like" and "Revine" instead of icons. The comments section also has a small message that disappears when a user begins typing in the comment box: "Say something nice."
"This release is just a first step toward bringing you a richer, more enjoyable web experience," Janessa Det, a Vine engineer, wrote on the company blog. "We look forward to introducing more improvements in 2014."
The new web version of Vine comes a few weeks after the app, which is owned by Twitter, offered users the opportunity to reserve vanity URLs.
