Because they are not yet successful enough to marry or cannot afford to marry, and our culture makes it difficult to have sex without marriage. Blaming it on women's dresses is ridiculous. I live in Australia and see girls with miniskirts all the time, but I do not feel the need to even look at them, let alone raping. Blaming women's dresses and women not wearing Burqas for rape incidents is like blaming someone for taking out his BMW car to the streets and displaying it in public for his car getting stolen, or for someone else's car getting stolen. So lets see, by your logic (by "your" I mean the people who think dresses should also be blamed for rape, and not only rapists) Many people in BD are poor and cannot afford good delicious food. When they see good food on display in first food shops, they develop an urge to eat them which in turn results in them stealing food or might result in them stealing food. So lets make a new law to force everyone to never ever display food in public. That should stop those thieves right? When food gets stolen or robbed from anywhere, we should all blame the shop owners who openly display food. Most people in BD cannot afford the duplex mansions that we see in Gulshan and Banani. When these people walk by these houses, they develop the urge to own a house like that, which in turn often result in them stealing, robbing, committing corruption, even committing murders (such as Bishshojit's case), just to get more money. So how about we make a new law that no one should be allowed to display their houses in public, especially if it is a beautiful mansion. When someone robs someone else for money, we should not only blame the robber, but also blame the people who publicly display their house and other properties. In fact, money and riches are the reason behind most crimes. So whenever a crime takes place, we should not only blame the criminal, but also blame the people who display money, riches or their expensive lifestyle in public, because that kind of display is what tempts criminals to commit crime. right friends? How about we stop objectifying women as if they are properties that need to be protected from getting robbed? Because that is what we are doing by trying to blame their dressups for the rapes and telling them to cover themselves up, just like you cover and lockup your shiny new car in your garage to prevent it from getting stolen. And even for a piece of property, when someone steals your car, the blame goes to the thief and only the thief, and not you for tempting the thief to steal it by not properly covering it up and locking it in your garage. Once you start blaming the car owners as well for not covering up or locking up their cars (thereby tempting the thief), much of the focus will shift from the thieves to the victims. This will only serve to encourage the thieves to justify their actions to a certain degree.
