Welcome to this morning's edition of "First To Know," a series in which we keep you in the know on what's happening in the digital world.
Today, we're looking at three particularly interesting stories. The New York Times reports that Apple is experimenting with a better battery that pulls energy from the air or Wi-Fi signals. The first update to Windows 8.1 has leaked, showing several minor updates, including a new title bar for Microsoft’s Windows 8-style apps. Wireless data got a little bit cheaper over the weekend: AT&T announced a family data sharing plan deal including 10 GB of data for four smartphones for $160. That’s $100 less than a similar plan from Verizon Wireless.
