Dhaka: The government has decided to shift the city's flammable chemical shops and depots either to Keraniganj or Kamrangirchar. Home minister Shahara Khatun said this after an inter-ministerial meeting on relocating illegal chemical depots from the city areas on Wednesday.Shahara said two committees -- one headed by the BISIC chairman to take care of the infrastructure and another under the industries ministry to look after the technical side.On Apr 13, the taskforce, formed after the dreadful Nimtali fire incident in June last year, submitted a 19-point proposal, including removal of chemical factories and depots.In its proposal, the taskforce mentioned 14 long-term and five short-term recommendations.
