০৭। সোরস আর পি এম ইনস্টলেশান অনেক সময় আপনার ডিস্ট্রোর জন্য উপযোক্ত RPM package নাও পেতে পারেন। এ ক্ষেত্রে আপনি সোর্স RPM থেকে আপনার ডিস্ট্রোর জন্য উপযোক্ত RPM package তৈরী করে নিতে পারেন। সোর্স RPM (clamav-0.83-1.src.rpm) থেকে .RPM (clamav-0.83-1.rpm) বিল্ড করতে আপনার হোম ডাইরেক্টরিতে নিম্নোক্ত ডাইরেক্টরি তৈরী করেন (নরমাল ইউজার হিসাবে)। রুট হলে দরকার নাই।

কিন্তু এক্ষেত্রে আপনার বিল্ড করা RPM পাবেন /usr/src/redhat/RPMS/i386/। ০৮। ইনস্টল না করেই ডাউনলোড করেন yum/apt-get install এ টিপসটি Centos, RHEL, Fedora ব্যবহারকারিদের জন্য, আপনি চাইলে yum ব্যব হার করে আপনার পছন্দের প্যাকেজ ইনস্টল না করে ডাউনলোড করে রেখে দিতে পারেন, ডাউনলোড করতে পারেন আপনার পছন্দের ডাইরেক্টরিতে। এজন্য আপনার থাকতে হবে downloadonly plugin । এটি না থাকলে ইনস্টল করে নিন।

টার্মিনালে নিচের মত করে লিখুন। yum install yum-downloadonly -y ইনস্টল না করে শুধুমাত্র ডাউনলোড করতে টার্মিনালে নিচের মত করে লিখুন। yum install -y --downloadonly এক্ষেত্রে আপনার ডাউনলোড করা সফটওয়ার পাবেন /var/cache/yum/ ডাইরেক্টরিতে। আপনার পছন্দের লোকেশানে ডাউনলোড করতে টার্মিনালে নিচের মত করে লিখুন। yum install httpd -y --downloadonly --downloaddir=/আপনার পছন্দের লোকেসান পাথ একাধিক PC থাকলে বারবার ডাউনলোড করতে হবেনা এটা কপি করে চালিয়ে নিতে পারেন।

Ubuntu, Debian -এ কাজ করার কথা এক্ষেত্রে ইনস্টল থাকতে হবে download-only প্লাগইন। apt-get install download-only এরপর apt-get -d install mc পাবেন /var/cache/apt/archives ০৯। লিনাক্সের Run সর্টকাট নতুনদের জন্য । উইন্ডোজে তাড়াতাড়ি কোন প্রোগ্রাম রান করানোর জন্য স্টার্ট মেনুতে গিয়ে Run -এ ক্লিক করে (প্রোগ্রাম নেইম লিখে)OK করলেই শেষ। লিনাক্সে এ সুবিধাটা ভোগ করতে হলে Alt+F2 চাপুন প্রদর্শিত বক্সে প্রোগ্রাম নেইম লিখে Run -এ ক্লিক করেন।

মাঝেমধ্যে কিছু পার্থক্য থাকে না হলে প্রায় একই প্রক্রিয়া। আনটার করতে টার্মিনালে নিচের মত করে লিখুন। tar -zxvf filename.tar.gz যদি ফাইল .gz এক্সটেনসান থাকে। tar -jxvf filename.bz2 যদি ফাইল .bz2 এক্সটেনসান থাকে। unzip filename.zip যদি ফাইল .zip এক্সটেনসান থাকে।

এবার README বা INSTALL ফাইলটি পড়ে ফেলুন আর ইনস্ট্রাকসান ফলো করুন। সাধারনত নিচের মত কাজ করতে হয়। টার্মিনালে নিচের মত করে লিখুন। ./configure আপনার দেয়া অপশান মত কনফিগার করে নিবে। উল্লেখ্য অনেক সময় আপনাকে কনফিগার করার সময় অপশন যোগ করতে হবে।

কনফিগার অপশনসমুহ দেখার জন্য টার্মিনালে নিচের মত করে লিখুন। ./configure --help make আপনার সিস্টেমের জন্য তৈরী করবে। make check ইনস্টল করার পুর্বে চেক করবে (যদি কোন এরর থাকে দেখাবে)। make install আপনার সিস্টেমে ইনস্টল করবে। ১১।

ফায়ারফক্স ইনস্টলেসান পদ্বতি জনপ্রিয় ব্রাউজার ফায়ারফক্স আপডেট হচ্ছে নিয়মিত এ্যাড হচ্ছে নতুন ফিচার, কিন্তু আপনি চাইলেই সাথে সাথে এ সুবিধাটা ভোগ করতে পারবেননা কারন ফায়ারফক্সের RMP ভার্সন আসে একটু দেরিতে। কিন্তু আপনি চাইলে সোর্স থেকে লেটেস্ট ভার্সন ইনস্টল করে নিতে পারেন। সোর্স থেকে ফায়ারফক্স ইনস্টলেসান ধাপ অন্য সফটওয়ার হতে একটু ভিন্ন আর এজন্য এই টিপস। প্রথমে ডাউনলোড করে নিন লেটেস্ট ভার্সন। তারপর ফাইলটাকে extract করেন tar -zxvf firefox* এখন extract করা ফোল্ডারটাকে মুভ করেন /usr/local/bin/ ডাইরেক্টরিতে।

(এ জন্য আপনাকে রুট ইউজার হতে হবে) $ su < password > mv firefox /usr/local/bin/ এবার রুট থেকে বের হয়ে আসুন Ctrl+D টার্মিনালে নিচের মত করে লিখুন। "alacarte" অথবা "kmenuedit" একটা নতুন এন্ট্রি তৈরী করেন নাম দেন firefox3, কমান্ড লাইনে লিখুন /usr/local/bin/firefox/firefox কারন ওখানেই আপনার নতুন firefox-এর বাইনারি ফাইল রয়েছে। আইকন সিলেক্ট করেন ফায়ারফক্সের জন্য (আপনার পছন্দ) সেইভ করে বেরিয়ে আসুন। ১২। Java plugin ইনস্টল ফায়ারফক্সে লেটেস্ট Java ডাউনলোড করে ইনস্টল করেন (আর পি এম বাইনারীটা ভালো-rpm.bin)।
