n a shocking incident, during the holy month of Ramzan, a blast occurred at Ajmer Sharif Dargah -Ahata- e-noor -- in Rajasthan on Thursday (Oct 11) creating chaos among the people visiting the dargah. According to the latest reports, the blast occurred 25 ft away from the shrine at around 6.14 pm killing 3 people and injuring several othes. The casualties have been rushed to the Jawahar Lal Nehru hospital. Though there are no reports of damage to the shrine, the area has been cordoned off. It's learnt that blast was triggered through explosives suspected in offerings by pilgrims given at Dargah, meanwhile, reports allege that it's not the handiwork of any militant outfit. The blast occurred at a time when the Centre had sent an alert to all masjids across the country. The blast reportedly occurred just before the devotees were about to break the fast. Around 5, 000 people were inside the shrine when the blast took place. Meanwhile, the special secretary in Home Ministry spoke to DGP Rajasthan to assess the situation. Forensic experts have rushed to the site of the blast to investigate and analyse the reason of the blast. Meanwhile, a high level emergency meeting of the police has been convened in Rajasthan and a high alert has also been sounded in Delhi. Ajmer dargah is normally a very well visited place by people of all communities. But there was even a greater rush on Thursday (Oct 11) owing to Ramazan.
