Justin Bieber was arrested in Miami Beach under the suspicion of driving under the influence as well as drag racing, police confirmed via Twitter.

The 19-year old singer is in custody after he failed a field sobriety test around 4 a.m. ET on Thursday. Authorities are expected to give a statement this morning, after which Bieber will be transferred to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, where he will receive bail.

Bieber has had his share of controversy in the last couple of weeks. He unpleasantly surprised his fans on Christmas by announcing an early retirement. Last week, his house in California was raided after he threw eggs on a neighbor's house.
And this week, Bieber has been partying in Florida. A report from TMZ claims the singer was "making it rain" in a Miami strip club, throwing around $75,000 in $1 bills.
