Govt cancels Independence Day parade

Dhaka, March 12 (bdnews24.com) – The government has decided to cancel the Independence Day parade scheduled for March 26 in view of circumstances evolving in the aftermath of the BDR mutiny, the LGRD minister Syed Ashraful Islam said on Thursday.
The minister communicated the government decision to reporters as he exited from a cabinet meeting on law and order at the home ministry.
With the home minister Sahara Khatun in the chair, the meeting was also attended by other cabinet members and senior military officers.
