within just 36 hours of "in-house" run on somewhere in... blog, the jagoron campaign (জাগরণ ক্যাম্পেইন) has raised 20 000 tk for save the children cyclone relief fund. congratulations to all bloggers for joining in so far, and this is just the beginning of the beginning. the somewhere in... jagoron campaign raises money from multiple donors for every person that joins in with an sms. keep in mind that this idea was born last sunday, agreed with save the children last monday and released on the blog by tuesday night. we have mobilised most of our talents for this effort and worked out the technical system as well as the whole campaign ourselves so that we could give a totally free system for save the children. as we develop this system, we hope that we in later instances can expand it so that multiple projects may enlist and donors may choose where to support. yesterday we had a few technical problems, and we still have things to attach to the campaign to make it more transparent and clear. today we will be moving out to enlist several more donors, and so far wherever we go the interest and response is 100% positive. we will of course also lobby the issue with the operators and we feel very confident that they will ensure that no profit is kept on their side for this issue. no reason to blame them at this stage, as they have not yet been formally approached by us. we will keep you updated on our progress. if you want to join as a sponsor, or have a firm or organisation that want to join in, please do contact us on . when time is up to collect the funds from the different sponsors, save the children personnel will go with us. together we can make a difference.
