Poor, Lonely Celebs Can Finally Find Solace on Tinder

Celebrities have it rougher than you think.
In what just might be the ultimate "first world problem," famous people apparently have a difficult time finding dates on Tinder because other users assume their profiles are fake.
But Tinder wants to fix that. The company's CEO said it would soon roll out changes to the dating app to make it easier for lonely celebs to meet people on the app, in the form of a verification system.

The system would resemble the one used by Facebook and Twitter, which verifies the authenticity of celebrity accounts. This would allow other users to discern between real public figures and fake ones, giving celebrities more flexibility when creating profiles.
Tinder requires a Facebook account to log in. This poses a problem for celebrities, said Tinder CEO Sean Rad, because they often don't use Facebook or operate under fake names. With verification, a celebrity would be able to change his Tinder name linked to his Facebook account to use the app under his real name while preserving Facebook anonymity.
"This will allow celebrities to enter Tinder in a different way," Rad told The Hollywood Reporter.
Rad didn't say what the verification system would look like or when it would roll out, but THR reports it will be similar to the checkmark system on Twitter.
Tinder, which first launched in 2012, is known for its high-profile users, particularly during large events. The app was reportedly popular among Olympians like Jamie Anderson and used widely throughout the Olympic Village in Sochi during this year's Winter Games.
