কেউ বলছেন, আরন রুশো রীতিমতো বিকৃত মস্তিস্ক, সমাজ এখনও অতটা পচে যায়নি যতটা তিনি দেখাতে চেয়েছেন। আবার কেউ বলছেন, রাজনীতিবিদরা নিজেদের স্বার্থে, কিভাবে ব্যবহার করছে গোটা রাষ্ট্র ব্যবস্থাকে,এই ছবিতে পরিচালক সেটাই তুলে ধরেছেন ভালো ভাবে। কিন্তু এ ব্যাপারে নিজে কি ভাবছেন পরিচালক রুশো। তিনি বলছেন, আমেরিকা ফ্রম ফ্রিডম টু ফ্যাসিজম, কোন ডান বা বাম পন্থী ভাবাদর্শ থেকে তৈরী হয়নি। এটা প্রচলিত সরকার ব্যবস্থার একধরনের পর্যবেন মাত্র।

তার চোখে এখন গোটা আমেরিকাই বিভক্ত। আর এই বিভক্তি একটি বিশেষ গোষ্ঠীর তৈরী, নিছক স্বার্থ হাসিলের জন্য। Aaron Russo: "America has become a very polarised nation, Republicans versus Democrats, red states versus blue states, liberal versus conservative and the movie is pointing out to people that that is not the real problem, the real problem, the Republican and the Democrat, red state, blue state, is really a polarisation effort by the people in charge. They want you focussing on red states and blue states, they want people fighting with each other so that nobody is paying attention to where the real problem lies. So as long as Democrats and Republics are fighting no one is paying attention to who is in control up here. If you are focussed down here then what is really happening up here? Who is behind the Republicans and the Democrats? The truth is that both parties are controlled by the same people, and those people are the banking interests in America, the central banks and that is happening all over the world because what has happened is that the federal reserve system people think is a federal agency but it is not, it's a private bank that makes a profit." আমেরিকানরা কেন আয়কর দিচ্ছে? এই প্রশ্নের উত্তর খুঁজতে গিয়ে রুশো মুখোমুখি হন কিছু বাস্তবতার। তিনি দেখতে পান, ক্রমেই ব্যক্তি স্বাধীনতার পরিধি ছোট হয়ে আসছে যুক্তরাষ্ট্রে। আর এর শুরু 1913 সালে, ফেডারেল রিজার্ভ সিস্টেম গঠনের মাধ্যমে।

এ নিয়ে তিনি কথা বলেন, মার্কিন কংগ্রেসম্যান, সাবেক আমলা, এফবিআই এজেন্ট, ট্যাঙ্ এটর্নি আর লেখকদের সাথে। তাদের বক্তব্য ধরেই রুশো টাকার, কেন্দ্রীয় আয়কর ব্যবস্থা আর জাতীয় পরিচয় পত্র প্রবর্তনের একটা যোগসূত্র খুঁজে পান। তার মতে এসবই আসলে একটা বিশাল ষড়যন্ত্রের অংশ। তার মতে মাইক্রোচিপ বসানো আইডি কার্ডর্, আসলে মানুষের গতিবিধি জানার একটা চেষ্টা মাত্র। সেই সাথে আইন করে মানুষের আয়ের ওপর কর বসিয়ে হাতিয়ে নেয়া হচ্ছে টাকা।

এ টাকা যেখানে জমা হচ্ছে 1913 সালে গড়া সেই ফেডারেল রিজার্ভ, এখন সেই গোষ্ঠীর নিয়ন্ত্রণে। তথ্যচিত্রে একেই ফ্যাসিবাদের সাথে তুলনা করেছেন রুশো। গ্র্যামি জেতা এই পরিচালকের মতে বিশ্বে এমন হাজারো মানুষ আছে যারা পরির্বতন চায়। কর্পোরেটদের বিরুদ্ধে তাদের একত্র করাই এই ডকুমেন্টারির উদ্দেশ্য। Aaron Russo: "I think that there are millions and millions of people around the world who don't want to live their lives that way, who want a change and I think there is a battle ahead of us and I am willing to take on that battle and I think it is a battle that millions of people across this world are going to be willing to take on,but what has to happen is we all have to congeal in one place, into an organisation that allows us to have one voice together that stops what is going on.
